Objective of the Game
The aim of Flour Cutting is to retrieve an object placed on a mound of flour without causing the mound to collapse.
Preparation
- You will need a plate, a cup or a small bowl, flour, a knife, and a small item like a gummy bear or a coin.
- Form a compact mound of flour on the plate.
- Carefully place the object on top of the flour mound.
Gameplay
- Decide the starting player by drawing lots. The players are seated in a circle around the flour mound.
- In turn, each player takes the knife and cuts a small piece off the flour mound. It is important to act cautiously in order not to endanger the stability of the mound.
- The next player must use the last cut surface as the starting point for their cut.
- The game continues in turns until the object falls off the flour mound.
Losing Conditions
- The player who causes the object to fall with their cut loses the game. Traditionally, the penalty for this player is to retrieve the item from the scattered flour using their mouth, without using their hands.
Strategic Considerations
- Flour Cutting requires a delicate hand and good judgment. Skill is crucial to choose the right cutting point.
- Some players try to cut close to the object to challenge the stability of the flour mound, while others preferred cut near the edge or more stable areas.
Tip: To increase the difficulty, you can make the flour mound steeper or use a heavier object.
