Objective of the Game

Hau den Lukas is a skills-based game, and the aim is to strike with enough force to send the ball up to the top of the device and ring the bell.

Components

• "Hau den Lukas" apparatus: A tall vertical device with a sled that moves when struck.
• Hammer or Mallet: A heavy tool used to hit the target area of the apparatus.
• Bell: Located at the top of the device, it rings when the sled reaches it.

Rules

1. Setup
   1. Position the "Hau den Lukas" apparatus securely and make sure it is stable.
   2. Each player gets the chance to use the hammer and must stand at a safe distance from each other.

2. Gameplay

   1. Players take turns standing in position in front of the device.

   2. The player grasps the hammer, lifts it above their head, and strikes the marked area at the base of the device with full force.

   3. The strike propels the sled up along the vertical track.

   4. If the sled reaches the bell and it rings, the player has achieved a perfect hit.

3. Game Objective

   • The aim is to ring the bell or at least send the sled as far upwards as possible.

   • The player who rings the bell the most times or gets the highest mark is declared the winner.

• Posture: A stable stance and well-controlled swing are key to an effective strike.
• Focus: Full concentration on the swing and force transmission is crucial for success.
• Force Distribution: It is advisable to distribute the force evenly to achieve the best effect.
