Objective of the Game:
Cornhole is a popular tossing game where the goal is to throw bean bags onto a board surface or ideally through a hole in the middle of the board to score points.
Components:
- 2 Cornhole Boards: Each board is angled with a hole near the top half.
- 8 Bean Bags: Typically four are red and four are blue.
Number of Players:
Cornhole can be played with 2 players or in 2 teams.
Setup:
- Set the boards approximately 27 feet apart from each other.
- Each team or player takes 4 bean bags of the same color.
Gameplay:
- Throwing Process:
- Players or teams take turns throwing their bean bags towards the opposite board.
-
Each player must remain behind the front edge of the board from which they are throwing.
-
Scoring System:
- You score 1 point for a bean bag that lands on the board.
- You score 3 points for a bean bag that goes through the hole.
-
No points are scored if the bean bag touches the ground before reaching the board.
-
Round Scoring:
- After each round (once both players have thrown all their bags), calculate the point difference between the two players' scores and award points to the team/player with the higher score.
- Example: Team A scores 7 points and Team B scores 5 points in the round, resulting in Team A receiving 2 points.
Winning the Game:
- The game concludes when a player or team first reaches a score of 21 points. If both teams reach 21 in the same round, an additional round is played to determine a clear winner.
Tips and Strategies:
- Aim Precisely: Practice to develop a better sense of distance and target accuracy.
- Block: Strategically place bags to block the hole from the opponent.
- Drag Strategy: Aim to throw in such a way that your bags push the opponent's bags off the board.
