Objective
The Statue Game is a fun and often spontaneous party game where the main goal is to stand still as a "statue" for as long as possible without getting caught or to "catch" other players while they are in motion.
Number of Players
- Minimum: 3
Game Materials
- No special materials are required, just enough space to move around.
Setup
- Choose one player to be the "game master". This player will control the music and give the signal to start and stop the game.
- The other players spread out across the room.
Gameplay
- The game master starts the music. As long as the music plays, players can move, dance, or walk around normally.
- As soon as the game master stops the music, all players must immediately freeze and become "statues". They must not move, laugh, or change their position.
- The game master now walks around the room to check if anyone is wobbling or moving. Movement results in the player being out for that round.
- After the game master has finished checking, the music is started again, and the process repeats.
- The last player remaining wins the game.
Strategies and Tips
- Self-control is key. Try focusing on one spot in the room to minimize distractions.
- Choose interesting poses that are stable when you become a statue so it's easier to hold the position.
- Be attentive and flexible in observing the surroundings to monitor possible reactions from the players.
Variations
- Category Freeze: Upon stopping the music, a specific pose category must be taken each time, such as "Animal Pose", "Superhero Pose", or "Ballet Pose".
- Time Limit: Set a maximum freeze time limit to increase dynamics.
