Objective of the game
Musical Chairs is a popular party game, especially played at children's parties. The objective is to secure a seat when the music stops, as one chair is removed each round.
Setup
- Number of players: The game can be played with any number of players, but at least 3 people.
- Materials: Chairs and a music source (e.g., music player or someone singing or humming).
- The number of chairs should be one less than the number of players.
- Arrange the chairs in a circle or in a line in the middle of the room.
Gameplay
- Start the music: One participant controls the music by turning it on and off.
- Move: The players walk clockwise around the circle of chairs while the music plays.
- Stop the music: The music controller stops the music abruptly at some point.
- Find a seat: All players try to quickly find a free chair and sit down.
- Elimination: The player without a chair is eliminated from the game.
- Remove one chair: Remove one chair before the next round.
- Repeat steps 1 to 6 until only one player remains.
Winning the game
The last player to sit in the final round is the winner of the game.
