Objective of the Game
Top Ten is a cooperative party game where players work together to conquer as many challenges as possible. The game aims for players to find humorous and creative answers to the questions posed and to sort the answers based on a secret ranking.
Game Components
- 135 Theme Cards
- 45 Unicorn Chips
- 1 Game Mat
- 5 Number Cards
Setup
- Place the game mat in the center of the table and place the unicorn chips next to it.
- Shuffle the theme cards and create a draw pile.
- Each player secretly receives a number card. The number on the card represents their position in the ranking, from 1 to 10 (depending on the number of players).
Gameplay
Top Ten is played over a series of rounds. In each round, one player takes on the role of the Captain:
- The Captain draws a theme card and reads the theme and task aloud.
- Each player (except the Captain) must then provide an answer to the theme posed that fits their assigned number (for example, an answer that fits into a ranking from 1 to 10).
- Players give their answers in any order.
- After giving all answers, the Captain arranges them in the order they believe matches the number cards.
- The Captain then reveals the number cards to check if the answers are in the correct order:
- For each mistake (number out of sequence), a unicorn chip is placed in the center of the table.
Game End
The game ends when the team makes five mistakes (collecting five unicorn chips) or when all questions have been played. The goal is to correctly order as many challenges as possible before gathering five unicorn chips.
Tips for Successful Play
- Communication is key! Since the order of answers is unknown, it’s helpful to give answers in a way that the Captain can easily deduce their sequence.
- Versatile Answers: The more creative and varied the answers are, the easier it is to determine the correct sequence.
With these rules and tips, you are ready to play "Top Ten" and see how well you can guess and gauge positions. Have fun!
