The objective in Schnurball is to score points by keeping a ball attached to a string in motion and attempting to direct it into the opponent's goal.
Number of Players
Schnurball can be played by two players. Each player has a fixed position on the field.
Game Setup
- Materials: You need a ball attached to a string, and two goals or marked areas that serve as player goals.
- Both players stand at their respective starting positions, at least five meters apart.
- Each player has a goal to defend.
Basic Rules
- The ball is attached at a point in the center of the play area.
- Players hit the ball with hands or a racket (depending on the version) in a manner that moves it towards the opponent's goal.
- A player scores a point when the ball reaches the opponent's goal.
- It is not allowed to deliberately block the string or attack the other player.
- The game is played for a set time duration or until a predetermined score is reached.
Strategic Tips
- Anticipatory Striking: Predict the ball's movement and strike it such that it’s difficult for your opponent to return it.
- Coverage: Position yourself to react quickly in case the ball moves unexpectedly towards your goal.
- Balance: Always maintain control over your movements and position yourself optimally to react to the ball.
