Objective of the Game
Billard Artistique, also known as Artistic Billiards, is a variant of billiards focused on performing artistic and challenging shots. The goal is to successfully execute a predetermined shot or a series of shots described in a task and earn points for doing so.
Playing Field
The game is played on a carom billiard table, without pockets and with three balls (two white cue balls and one red object ball).
Setup
- The table should be clean, and the balls should be correctly calibrated for precision shots.
- Players should familiarize themselves with the rules and specific requirements of each task.
- Tasks are predefined positions of the balls on the table, describing which ball should be hit with the cue ball first, and what additional touches must occur.
Rules
- Each player must execute the task from a fixed position. The balls must be placed exactly on the stipulated starting points.
- A player has a predetermined number of attempts to perform the task successfully (often three shots).
- Points are awarded based on the difficulty of the task and whether the conditions were completely met.
- There is a set time limit for each attempt to complete the task.
- On a failed attempt, the next player gets the opportunity.
Special Features
- Tasks are categorized by difficulty, and players can strategically choose simpler tasks to ensure they score points or opt for more difficult ones to earn more points.
- Strategic considerations involve planning the order of tasks to maximize point gains optimally.
Winning Conditions
- The game is played over a specified number of rounds or until a player reaches a predetermined score.
- The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Billard Artistique requires skill, concentration, and a good imagination to visualize and perform complex shots. It is a game that combines both technique and creativity.
