Objective of the Game
Edward Fortyhands is a drinking-based party game where each player must consume their assigned drinks as quickly as possible to regain full use of their hands. The goal is to have fun while demonstrating a certain speed in drinking.
Setup
- Number of Players: Best played with a group of 2 to 8 players.
- Materials:
- Two large bottles of beer for each player (usually 40-ounce bottles, hence the name).
- Tape to secure the bottles to each player's hands.
Gameplay
- Preparation: Each player has two 40-ounce beer bottles taped to their hands in such a way that they cannot be removed until the bottles are empty.
- Start: Once the bottles are securely taped, the game begins with a start signal.
- Goal: Each player must completely empty both bottles.
- Rules:
- Players may not remove the bottles until they are fully consumed.
- Assistance from others in drinking or manipulating the bottles is prohibited in most rule sets to maintain difficulty.
- There are no rounds or time limits, but the game should remain safe and enjoyable for all participants.
Special Notes and Strategies
- Strategic Planning: Players should strategically consider in which order to empty the bottles to free up a hand sooner.
- Be Cautious: Care should be taken not to drink too hastily, which can lead to discomfort.
- Breaks: Players can take breaks during the "game," but the bottles must remain taped to their hands during this time.
Warning: Due to the nature of the game, participants should know their own limits and keep the game fun. Enjoyment should always come before pressure or competition. Responsible drinking is essential, and care must be taken to ensure no one gets hurt.
Edward Fortyhands is often played as a joke or fun game in an informal setting and should never be used to glorify excessive alcohol consumption.
