Objective of the Game

Spot it! is a fast-paced skill and observation game where the aim is to quickly identify the matching symbol between two cards. The player who collects or discards the most cards (depending on the variation) wins the game.

Game Materials

• A deck of round cards. Each card features 8 different symbols, and there is always exactly one symbol matching between any two cards.

Gameplay

1. Setup: Shuffle the cards and distribute them according to the chosen game variant.
2. Core Rule: Between any pair of two cards, there is exactly one matching symbol.
3. Game Variants: Choose one of the following game variants to begin:
4. The Tower: Each player receives one card; the rest are placed in a stack in the middle. Flip the top card from the middle stack. Players look for the matching symbol between their card and the card in the middle. The first player to call out the matching symbol wins the card from the middle. The game ends when the stack in the middle is depleted. The player who collected the most cards is the winner.
5. The Well: Every player receives one card. The remaining cards are distributed equally among the players. All players turn over their top card simultaneously and place it in the middle. The goal is to find the matching symbol between their card and the middle card. The player who identifies the symbol first places their card in the middle. The first player to place all their cards wins.
6. Hot Potato: One card is placed in the middle, and remaining cards are dealt to the players. Players look for a matching symbol between their card and other players' hands to pass their card onto them. The winner is the first to get rid of all their cards.
7. Other versions include different strategies for selecting and winning or losing cards.

• Simultaneity: All players act simultaneously, so quick reaction is crucial.
