Objective of the Game
The Werewolves of Millers Hollow is a social deduction party game filled with deception and intrigue. The objective for the Villagers is to identify and eliminate all the Werewolves, while the Werewolves aim to eliminate all Villagers or have an equal number of Werewolves and Villagers at the end of the game.
Setup
First, a moderator is chosen to lead the game and ensure that the rules are followed. Depending on the number of players and their preferences, roles are assigned:
- Werewolves: Their task is to eliminate one Villager each night.
- Villagers: The general population of the village that is in danger every night.
- Special Roles: Depending on the variant and number of players, there are additional roles that can influence the game, such as the Seer, the Witch, the Hunter, or the Little Girl.
Each player receives a concealed role assignment, which they must keep secret.
Gameplay
The game is played in rounds of alternating day and night, announced by the moderator:
-
Night: All players close their eyes. The Werewolves silently wake up and agree on which Villager to eliminate. Other potential special roles then wake up in turn to use their abilities (e.g., the Seer can check the identity of a player).
-
Day: All players open their eyes. The moderator announces which player was eliminated during the night. The affected player is out of the game. All players then discuss to identify the Werewolves and nominate a suspect to lynch at the day's end.
Victory Conditions
- Villagers win if all Werewolves are eliminated.
- Werewolves win if their number is equal to the remaining Villagers.
Strategic Tips
- Werewolves should be cautious and careful, attempting to hide their identity and deflect suspicion onto others.
- Villagers need good communication and persuasive arguments during discussions.
- Roles such as the Seer or the Witch are crucial for the Villagers and should use their information wisely.
The game requires a combination of strategy, communication, and awareness of player dynamics.
