Objective
The objective of Speed Dice is to use the letters rolled on the dice to form a word or multiple words as quickly as possible, using all the dice and finishing before the other players.
Components
- A set of letter dice (similar to those used in the game Scrabble, but in dice form)
- One linear per player
Setup
- Each player takes one Linear.
- All letter dice are placed in the middle of the table.
Rules
- Rolling: At the beginning of each round, every player rolls their set of letter dice.
- Forming Words: After rolling, all players simultaneously try to form words using the letters they rolled. The words must be written in lowercase and in the plural form.
- Enter words: As soon as a player finishes, they shout "Done!" and put their pen down. The other players still have time to complete their words.
- Counting Scores: After the round, all players count the scores of their formed words. Scores can be based on different letter values (like in Scrabble) or according to pre-established rules.
- Review Rounds: The points of each player's words are checked and recorded.
Winning
The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds or a specific time. The player with the most accumulated points wins the game.
Tips and Tricks
- Speed is key: Try to identify and write the words as fast as possible. Practice makes perfect in quickly recognizing words.
- Letter frequency: Keep in mind how often certain letters appear and their value to strategically form words that bring the most points.
- Long-term strategy: Try to improve your score with every round. Even if you score less in one round, you can catch up over the course of the game.
