Objective
In Geistesblitz, the goal is to quickly grab the correct item or call it out in order to win as many cards as possible. Players need to be quick to react and accurately perceive the objects and colors depicted on the card.
Components
- 60 cards: Each card shows two objects in different colors.
- 5 three-dimensional items in different colors:
- a white ghost
- a red sofa
- a blue book
- a grey mouse
- a green bottle
Setup
- Place the five items in the center of the playing area, easily accessible to all players.
- Shuffle the 60 cards and create a draw pile, placing it face down in the center.
Gameplay
- Reveal the Cards: The starting player draws the top card from the pile and reveals it as quickly as possible.
- Identify the Card: Players must identify quickly which item is the correct one:
- Exact Match: If an item on the card matches exactly with any of the objects on the table in both color and shape, grab that item.
- Not Depicted: If no item is depicted in the correct color, grab the item that is neither shown on the card nor in its color variant.
- Grab or Call the Correct Item: The player who grabs the correct item or calls it out correctly wins the card.
- The round ends with the card being won and placed in front of the player as a score.
- The next player in order reveals the next card, and the process repeats.
Special Rules
- If two players grab the wrong item at the same time, neither can win the card, and it is placed back under the stack.
- For increased difficulty, players can introduce variants such as simultaneous calling before grabbing.
Ending the Game
The game ends when all cards have been used. The player with the most cards wins.
Strategic Tips
- Keep a clear eye on both objects and be mindful of colors not depicted correctly.
- Practice fast elimination thinking to quickly identify which objects are not correct.
