Objective of the Game
The objective of Guess the Address is to discover the hidden address (house number) of another player through strategic questioning and deduction.
Game Materials
- Paper and pens for each player
- A predetermined list of house numbers (e.g., 1 to 100)
Setup
- Each player receives a sheet of paper and a pen.
- Players agree on a range or list of house numbers for the game (e.g., numbers from 1 to 100).
- Each player secretly writes down one house number from the list on their sheet and keeps it hidden from the others.
Gameplay
- The youngest player starts by asking any other player a yes/no question designed to narrow down the possibilities of that player's house number.
- The player being asked must answer honestly with “Yes” or “No.”
- The next player in a clockwise direction then asks a yes/no question to any player of their choice.
- The turn continues in this manner around the table.
- A player can declare a guess instead of asking a question when it is their turn. If they believe they know another player's house number, they can state it aloud.
- If the guess is correct, the guesser wins the round for that opponent's number, and a new round begins with all players choosing new house numbers.
- If incorrect, the player loses their next opportunity to ask or guess.
Ending the Game
The game ends once a predetermined number of rounds have been played, or a set number of successful guesses have been made (e.g., 3 won rounds).
Strategic Tips
- Aim to ask questions that eliminate the largest number of possibilities, like “Is the house number higher than 50?” instead of more specific ones, which provide less overall information.
- Pay attention to the responses other players give, using this information to refine your own questions.
- When few possibilities remain, make a calculated guess to secure a win.
Guess the Address is an engaging game that fosters logical thinking and deduction, making it perfect for family and friends gatherings.
