Objective of the Game

Bankrutschen is a sociable drinking game primarily focused on having fun and enjoying drinking rounds together. There is no clearly defined winner. The main purpose is socializing and enjoying communal fun.

Setup

  • Number of Players: At least 4 people.
  • Materials: One seat for each player (chairs, benches, etc.) and sufficient drinks.
  • Players sit in a circle, numbered clockwise.

Gameplay

  1. Start: One player starts the game by loudly saying "1".
  2. Continuation: The next player clockwise has to say "2", the following "3", and so on.
  3. Slide: Instead of saying certain numbers (such as any number containing a "7" or a multiple of 7), players must say “Slides.”
  4. For example, the sequence would go 5, 6, “Slides,” 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, "Slides," etc.
  5. Order: If someone says a number incorrectly or forgets to say “Slides,” they have to take a penalty drink.
  6. After drinking, this player starts again with the number where they went wrong, and the game continues.

Tips and Variations

  • The game can also be varied with other rules, for instance by adding more "Slides" trigger numbers like multiples or instances of 5.
  • The larger the group, the harder it gets to keep track, which requires concentration to avoid frequent drinking.
  • Strategy: It helps to mentally go over a few numbers beforehand to avoid being caught off guard.

The game typically ends when players have had enough to drink or have lost interest, making it especially suitable for casual gatherings.
