Objective of the Game
The objective of Agent Undercover is to uncover the identity of the undercover agent if you are a regular player or as the agent, remain undetected and guess the secret location.
Game Components
- Set of location cards like "Theater", "Hospital", etc.
- One card labeled as "Undercover Agent"
- A timer or clock
Game Setup
- Player Selection: Agent Undercover is ideally played with 3 to 8 players.
- Card Distribution: Shuffle the location cards and add one Undercover Agent card. The total should match the number of players.
- Each player secretly draws a card. Normal players see a location; the undercover agent only sees the Undercover Agent card.
Gameplay
- The player who won the last game or the oldest player begins the game.
- Question Round: The starting player asks another player a question related to the location on their card. Questions should be subtle to avoid direct identification of the agent but also clear enough for other players to recognize the location. Examples:
- "How do you like the clothes you have to wear here?"
- "How was your last day here?"
- The questioned player answers and then asks another player a question. It's important to answer cleverly without being too obvious.
- This cycle continues until a player believes they've identified the agent or the timer runs out.
Game End and Winning Conditions
- Agent revealed: If a player suspects someone of being the undercover agent, they can pause the game and make an accusation. Upon majority agreement:
- If correct, the regular players win.
- If incorrect, the undercover agent wins.
- Agent’s guess: The undercover agent can end the game by revealing their identity and guessing the location:
- If correct, they win.
- If incorrect, the regular players win.
Strategic Tips
- For Normal Players: Be subtle in your questioning and answer formulation so that only players with your location recognize them as plausible. Watch reactions closely and analyze responses.
- For the Agent: Listen carefully to collect clues, speak vaguely, and avoid precise answers that could stand out, hoping others reveal themselves.
Agent Undercover encourages communication and deception, requiring both strategy and people-reading skills.
