Objective of the Game
The objective of Pog is to win as many Pogs as possible by flipping them with a slammer.
Game Materials
- Pogs: Round cardboard discs with designs on them.
- Slammer: A heavy disc used to flip the Pogs over.
Number of Players
2 or more players can participate.
Setup
- Each player starts with a number of Pogs. Usually, players agree on how many Pogs each will put in the pile. The Pogs are contributed to the center regardless of ownership.
- Mix the Pogs well and stack them with the design side down.
Gameplay
- The first player takes the slammer and throws it onto the Pog pile.
- Any Pogs that land face-up are won by the player.
- Unflipped Pogs are stacked again, and the game continues.
- The next player takes their turn with the slammer.
- The game continues in turns until all Pogs are won.
Strategies and Nuances
- Throw Technique: Different techniques on how to hold and throw the slammer can affect the number of Pogs flipped.
- Force: A stronger force may flip more Pogs but could also result in less control over the throw.
- Some players may consider the value of their Pogs, choosing to risk less valuable ones.
Winning the Game
The player with the most Pogs at the end wins.
