Objective of the Game
In Air Hockey, the goal is to use a mallet to hit the puck into the opponent's goal while preventing them from scoring in your own. Each player aims to score more goals than the opponent within a set time limit or until a certain number of points is reached.
Components
- Table: A specially designed table with a smooth surface and boundary rails.
- Puck: A round disc that glides across the table surface.
- Mallet: A hand-held device used to strike the puck.
How to Play
- Start: Each player takes a mallet and positions themselves at their side of the table.
- Face-off: The game begins with a face-off where a player puts the puck into play.
- Game Play:
- Players use their mallets to strike the puck into the opponent’s goal to score points.
- A goal is scored when the puck completely crosses the opponent’s goal line.
- It's allowed to use the table sides to deflect the puck.
- Scoring: Each goal scored awards the player one point.
- Game End: The game ends when a pre-determined score is reached or the time limit expires.
- Winning: The player with the most points wins.
Rules
- The puck can only be touched with the mallet.
- Players may not lean across the center line of the table with their bodies.
- If the puck leaves the playing field, it is restarted at the center.
Strategy Tips
- Positioning: Keep your mallet close to the goal to react quickly.
- Bank Shots: Use the sides to maneuver the puck unpredictably.
- Reflexes: Quick reflexes are crucial for both offense and defense.
- Feints: Perform fake shots to confuse the opponent.
Air Hockey requires dexterity, speed, and strategic thinking to outmaneuver the opponent and score the most goals first.
