Objective of the Game
The objective of Pultstockspringen is to be the first player to complete the entire course with the highest score possible.
Components
- A game board with a marked course.
- Cardboard pultstocks for each player piece.
- Player pieces which players move across the course.
- A scoreboard to record points accumulated during the game.
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Each player selects a player piece and the corresponding cardboard pultstock.
- Place the player pieces at the start of the course.
- Decide on one person to keep score or use the scoreboard.
Gameplay
Turn Structure: 1. The youngest player starts, and turns proceed clockwise. 2. On each turn, a player can make three special moves: - One foot on the ground: Move the piece one space forward. - Two feet off: Leap over one space. - Spin with the pultstock: Place the pultstock in a secure maneuver position to gain extra points.
Pultstock Leaps: - During a pultstock leap, the piece must be placed stably and the player rolls a six-sided die to determine success: - 1-3: No leap success, the piece stays put. - 4-6: The leap is successful, move the piece one extra space forward.
Scoring System: - Successful Leaps: 5 points - Pultstock Spins: 3 points - Spaces entered without using feet: 2 points per space
End of the Game
The game ends once a player reaches the course end. The player with the highest total score wins the game.
Strategic Considerations
- Timing: Weigh when to use the pultstock to perform special maneuvers.
- Risk Management: Evaluate when it's worth taking more risk for higher points.
- Positioning: Remember that positioning on the board can be crucial for gaining extra points or facilitating progress.
