Objective of the Game
The objective of Killer is for the secret Murderer to "kill" as many Victims as possible without being discovered by the other players. Meanwhile, the other players aim to identify who the murderer is and remove them from the game.
Setup
- Number of Players: Starting from 4 players.
- Materials: Slips of paper or cards to determine roles. One slip reads "Murderer," and the others "Victims." A Detective role could be included for larger groups (optional).
- Each player takes one slip secretly and keeps their role hidden.
Gameplay
- Players mingle in a room or area, engaging in normal conversations.
- The Murderer "kills" a Victim by secretly, e.g., winking at them or lightly pressing their hand.
- Upon being "killed," a player counts silently to 10 and then announces, "I’m dead," leaving the game.
- The Murderer continues attempting to avoid detection while the other players try to identify them.
- A player can announce at any time if they suspect someone.
- The Suspecting: The accused player has a chance to defend themselves. The group votes on whether the accused should be expelled from the game.
Win Conditions
- The Murderer wins by killing all the Victims without being discovered or "arrested."
- The Victims win by correctly identifying and "arresting" the Murderer.
Strategic Tips
- Murderers should act inconspicuously, avoid too much direct eye contact, and refrain from suspicious behavior.
- Victims should watch out for unnatural behavior or attempts for isolation attacks.
- If a Detective is playing, they can ask strategic questions or try to guide attention to suspicious behavior.
Killer is a game that is especially thrilling and entertaining in a relaxed group setting with humorous participants. It thrives on bluffing and strategizing and enhances abilities in reading body language and social cues.
