Objective of the Game
Fun Facts is a cooperative party game where the aim is to correctly answer personal questions as a group. The goal is to achieve the highest score as a group by figuring out how well you know your fellow players.
Game Components
- 8 Plastic boards
- 8 Colored markers
- 1 Set of estimation questions
- 1 Score pad
Setup
- Each player receives a colored marker and a matching plastic board.
- Shuffle the set of estimation questions and place it ready.
- Determine a starting player.
Game Flow
The game is played over several rounds, with each round consisting of the following steps:
-
A player draws the top question from the stack and reads it out loud. These questions relate to personal estimates or experiences, e.g., "How many countries have you visited?"
-
Each player thinks of their own answer to this question and writes it secretly on their plastic board.
-
In turn, each player places their board face-down in front of them. The players now try to arrange the boards in ascending order based on their estimated answers without seeing the answers.
-
Once all the boards are in line, players simultaneously flip them over and reveal the answers.
-
The players check the arrangement. For each correct arrangement (i.e., if the answers are in the correct order), the group earns a point.
-
Record the points on the score pad.
-
A new round starts by the next player drawing a new estimation question clockwise.
End of the Game
The game ends after a pre-set number of rounds or estimation questions. Players tally up the score and compare the result with previous games or other groups.
Tips and Strategies
- Try to get inside your fellow players' minds and think about what experiences they might have had.
- Discuss together but consider how much certain information you want to reveal. Be cautious of information that is too obvious and could influence your game.
- Use your knowledge from previous rounds to better estimate the answers.
Fun Facts is a great game to learn more about your fellow players and become closer as you share personal stories and experiences.
