Objective
Mauseschlau & Bärenstark is an entertaining and educational board game for children, where the aim is to solve as many tasks as possible and collect the most points by the end. The goal is to combine knowledge, dexterity, and teamwork to overcome the fun challenges.
Game Components
The game includes:
- Game board
- Playing pieces (4 pieces)
- "Mauseschlau" (Mouse Clever) and "Bärenstark" (Bear Strong) cards
- Dice
- Scoring chips
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Each player chooses a playing piece and places it on the starting space.
- The cards are sorted into "Mauseschlau" and "Bärenstark" categories. Shuffle each category and place them as stacks beside the board.
- The scoring chips are laid down.
Gameplay
-
Decide on a starting player.
-
The starting player rolls the dice and advances their playing piece on the board according to the number shown.
-
Depending on the category of the space landed on, the player draws a card from the corresponding stack:
- Mauseschlau Card: A question to test knowledge is asked. The player must answer it.
-
Bärenstark Card: A dexterity or motion task is given, which the player must perform.
-
If the player completes the task, they earn a scoring chip.
-
If a player lands on a special space, they follow the specific instructions on that space, which could be moving extra spaces, skipping turns, or gaining additional points.
-
Then, play proceeds to the next player clockwise.
-
The game ends when a player reaches the finish line.
Scoring
All players count their scoring chips. The player with the most points wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Know Your Strengths: If you are aware of the categories you excel in, try to gain more points in those areas.
