Objective of the Game
Cranium is a fun family game that tests your creativity, knowledge, and skills. Your team must complete various challenges to be the first to reach the finish line on the game board.
Game Components
- 1 game board
- 600 Cranium cards with challenges
- 4 play pieces
- 1 die
- 1 tub of Cranium clay
- 1 timer
- 4 Cranium pads
Number of Players and Duration
2-16 players, recommended for groups of 4 or more players divided into teams. Playing time is approximately 60 minutes.
Game Setup
- Form teams with at least two players each.
- Choose a play piece and place it on the starting space.
- Set up the deck with the four categories (Creative Cat, Data Head, Star Performer, Word Worm).
- Have the timer and clay ready.
Gameplay
- The first team starts by rolling the die and moving their play piece the corresponding number of spaces toward the Cranium Central.
- The team draws a card from the category of the space they land on and completes the challenge. Depending on the category:
- Creative Cat (Yellow): Sculpt or draw certain items with clay or sketchpad, and your team guesses.
- Data Head (Blue): Answer trivia questions or solve other creative puzzles together.
- Star Performer (Green): Perform charades or act out phrases without speaking.
- Word Worm (Red): Solve word puzzles, guess words, or complete sentences.
- If the challenge is completed successfully, the team gets another roll and move.
- If they fail, the turn passes to the next team.
Special Rules
- Oddball Squares: These allow teams to skip to the first space in the next color zone if they complete the task.
- Cranium Central spaces: On these special spaces, you can choose a challenge category of your liking.
Strategy Tips
- Use the strengths of team members to the fullest - one team member may be a trivia expert, while another may have artistic talents.
- Develop quick communication strategies for charades and non-verbal challenges.
Winning the Game
The game ends when a team reaches the finish space and successfully completes the final challenge.
