Icecool2
Objective
"Icecool2" is a dexterity game where each player tries to collect the most fish as students in a penguin school. Each round, one player takes on the role of the catcher, whose goal is to catch the other penguins.
Components
- 5 square, interlocking boxes (school rooms)
- 4 plastic penguin figures
- Wooden or plastic fish
- Scoring cards
- Rulebook
Setup
- Assemble the game board as directed in the rulebook. The five boxes are arranged with doors open between them.
- Each player selects a penguin figure and places their colored fish markers over the matching colored doors.
- Each player draws a number of scoring cards from a shuffled deck based on the number of players.
Gameplay
The game is played over several rounds, with each player taking turns being the "catcher":
-
The Catcher: This player places their penguin on the designated spot and tries to flick the other penguins to catch them.
-
The Runners: The other players flick their penguin figures to move through doors and collect fish. Whenever a runner goes through a door with one of their fish, they pick up the fish and draw a card from the deck.
End of Game and Scoring
The game ends when each player has had a turn as the catcher. Players then count their collected scoring cards:
- Each fish card is worth 1 to 3 points.
- Players can earn additional points through specific card combinations.
Strategy and Tips
- Accuracy: Practice flicking different techniques to better pass through doors or catch other players.
- Timing: As a runner, always aim to capitalize on passing through doors with fish.
- Planning: Keep an eye on the catcher's position to avoid being caught.
Special Features and Expansions
"Icecool2" can be combined with the original "Icecool" to create larger boards and increase the number of players. This provides more strategy and allows for greater movement combinations of the penguin figures.
Have fun and good luck in the race of the swift penguins in "Icecool2"!
