Objective of the Game
The objective of Schnapp Land Fluss! is to collect as many cards as possible by naming the required categories, thus having the most cards at the end of the game.
Components
- A deck of cards with different categories such as country, river, city, animal, profession, etc.
- Depending on the version, an hourglass may be used for timekeeping.
Setup
- Shuffle the cards and place them face down in the middle of the table.
- Each player gets a notepad and a pen if terms are also to be written down.
Gameplay
- The youngest player starts and flips the top card so that all players can see the category but not the letters.
- Then the same player reveals as many letter cards as determined for the round (e.g., three).
- All players try simultaneously to find a term that fits the category and starts with one of the letters.
- Whoever shouts out a term first and thus "snaps" checks the correctness of the term with other players.
- The term must match the category and start with one of the revealed letters.
- The player who names the correct term wins the card as a point.
- If no player can name a valid term, the card is set aside.
Time Limit
- An hourglass can optionally be used to limit the duration of the rounds.
End of the Game
- The game ends when all the cards have been played.
- The player with the most cards wins.
Tips & Strategies
- Prepare terms: Players can premeditate common terms for the different categories.
- Speed counts: Since all play simultaneously, being quick is crucial.
- Joker letters: Some letters are easier to work with. Try to associate word fields with these letters.
Schnapp Land Fluss! is a dynamic and fast-paced game that challenges both thinking and reaction skills.
