Objective:
The objective of the Kamerun game is to collect as many points as possible by winning card tricks and meeting certain conditions set by the collected cards.
Setup:
A standard deck of 52 cards is used for the game. Players should sit around a table so that everyone can easily reach their cards. Shuffle the cards well and then deal them evenly among the players. The number of cards per player depends on the number of players; the entire deck does not have to be distributed.
Gameplay:
The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. The play proceeds clockwise.
-
Playing Cards: Each player plays one card in their turn. The player who plays the highest card in the suit led wins the trick. There are no trump suits.
-
Collecting Tricks: The winner of the trick takes the cards, places them aside in their score pile, and leads the next trick.
-
Scoring: After an agreed number of rounds or when all cards have been played, the game ends, and players tally their card points. Depending on the variant, different cards may have different point values.
Points:
- An Ace counts as 11 points.
- A King counts as 4 points.
- A Queen counts as 3 points.
- A Jack counts as 2 points.
All number cards count according to their face value.
Strategic Tips:
- Memory: It can be beneficial to remember which cards have already been played to better judge the remaining options.
- Choosing Tricks: Decide carefully whether you want to win a trick, especially if aiming for specific card values.
- Observe Opponents: Pay attention to what cards your opponents play and which they hold back.
Winning:
The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Special Rules:
In some variations, there are additional rules such as "negative points" for certain card combinations or special round conditions, which should be agreed upon beforehand to avoid misunderstandings.
