Objective
The objective of Funkelschatz is to collect the most gemstones by skillfully removing ring of ice by ring of ice and gathering the falling gemstones. The aim is to collect the gemstones of the color you selected for the current round.
Components
- 9 Ice Rings
- 90 Gemstones of various colors
- 1 Dragon Dad Plate
- 4 Treasure Chest Boards
- 1 Treasure Master Figure
- 1 Dragon Child Figure
Setup
- Stack the Ice Rings in the center, placing the Dragon Dad at the bottom.
- Fill the gaps in the stacked Ice Rings with the various gemstones.
- Each player takes a Treasure Chest Board.
- The player who last saw a crystal starts the game.
Gameplay
The game is played over several rounds, each round consisting of the following steps:
- Choose a Color: Each player secretly chooses a gemstone color they wish to collect in this round.
- Remove Ice Ring: The active player removes an ice ring from the stack, causing the gemstones to fall out.
- Collect Gemstones: Players then take turns, starting with the person who removed the ring, collecting gemstones of the color they chose.
- Players place gemstones of other colors back onto the playing area.
- Move the Treasure Master: After collecting, pass the treasure master figure clockwise, and the next player removes another ice ring.
End of the Game
The game ends when all ice rings have been removed and there are no more gemstones to collect. The player with the most gemstones on their Treasure Chest Board wins the game.
Strategy
- Plan Ahead: Try to foresee which gemstones might fall in upcoming rounds and choose your color accordingly.
- Take Risks: Sometimes selecting an uncommon color may yield a high reward.
