Objective
The objective of Quadrille is to strategically play cards to score points and successfully block your opponents.
Game Components
- A standard deck of 52 playing cards
Setup
- Shuffle the cards well and distribute them evenly among the four players.
- Each player receives 13 cards.
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the play.
Gameplay
- Winning Tricks: Each player plays a card in turn. The player who played the highest card in the led suit wins the trick and collects the cards. The order from highest to lowest is Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
- Trump Suit: Players can agree on a trump suit before the game, which outranks all other suits.
Scoring
- Each trick won scores one point.
- Watch out for any additional house rules or scoring variations that may award points for specific combinations or plays.
Strategies
- Card Counting: Try to remember which cards have been played to know which ones remain in the game.
- Bluffing: Play cards in a way that misleads your opponents about your strategy.
- Enforcing Play: When possible, play cards forcing your opponents to discard valuable cards.
