Objective

Traveller is a role-playing game where players immerse themselves in a fascinating science fiction world. The objective of the game is to experience adventures through storytelling and strategic decisions by creating characters and navigating through a campaign led by the game master.

Setup

1. Character Creation: Each player creates a character. This involves filling out a 'character sheet' with attributes, skills, and the character’s background story.
2. Choose a species and a career for your character.
3. Determine your attributes like Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, Intellect, Education, and Social Status.

4. Learn basic skills according to the chosen career.

5. Resources and Equipment: Distribute starting resources and select equipment that might be useful in the adventure.

6. The game master prepares the campaign and guides the players through the story.

Gameplay

• The game proceeds in rounds based on storytelling and dice rolling.
• The game master describes the environment and situation. Players respond by describing their characters' actions.
• Skill Checks: When a character attempts an action that might fail, dice are rolled to determine success.
• Roll two six-sided dice (2d6).
• The target value is based on the character's attributes and skills.
• The game master sets difficulty levels and determines the dice result needed to succeed.

Special Features

• Character Development: Successful missions earn characters experience points that can be used to improve skills.
• Open Play: Unlike board games, "Traveller" does not have rigid rules, allowing for creative problem-solving and skill use.
