Objective of the Game

1775: Rebellion is a tactical strategy game that portrays the events of the American Revolutionary War. Players take control of the two warring sides: the British and loyalists on one side and the Americans and the French on the other. The objective of the game is to maneuver units and conduct battles skillfully to control as many colonies as possible. The winner is the team that controls the most colonies at the end of the game.

Game Components

  • A game board with a map of the 13 colonies.
  • Dice for the different factions: British, loyalists, Americans, French troops, Native Americans.
  • Game cards for events and movements.
  • Miniature figures representing the various troops.

Setup

  1. Choose the factions that you want to play.
  2. Each player takes the corresponding dice and troop figures for their faction.
  3. Shuffle the event cards and deal a hand to each player.
  4. Arrange the troops on the game board according to the starting conditions.

Rules of Play

Game Turn

The game proceeds in several rounds, each consisting of several phases:

  1. Determine Turn Order: The order of turns is determined at the beginning of each round by drawing turn cards.
  2. Card Phase: Each player draws additional cards and may play event cards that provide tactical advantages or special abilities.
  3. Movement and Battle Phase: Players move their troops into adjacent territories and engage in battles to conquer areas. Battles are resolved using dice rolls. Each faction has special dice with different symbols.
  4. Supply Phase: Players must withdraw their units from territories they cannot supply or securely hold.

Battle Rules

  • Rolling Dice: Each faction attacks with its own dice. The dice feature different symbols indicating hits or retreats.
  • Hits: Hits remove enemy troops from the battlefield.
  • Retreats: Some dice sides require retreating to an adjacent, safe territory.

Occupying Territories

A territory is controlled by the player who has the most troops in that area at the end of their turn. If a faction controls few or no territories, their ability to act is limited.

Ending the Game

The game ends after a predefined number of rounds or once certain victory conditions are met, such as controlling a specific number of colonies. The team that controls the most territories wins the game.

Strategic Tips

  • Coordination: Since the game is played in teams, coordination between players is key to success.
  • Utilize Event Cards: Smart use of event cards can turn the tide in a closely fought game.
  • Maintain Control: Establishing and maintaining control over territories increases your chances of winning.

Good luck with your strategic battle for control of the colonies!
