Objective of the Game
Minchiate is a historical card trick-taking game played with a special deck of cards that differs from the standard Tarot cards. The objective of the game is to accumulate points through tricks. Players aim to win as many tricks as possible and collect valuable scoring cards in the process.

Minchiate is typically played by 4 players.
Materials
The Minchiate deck consists of 97 cards, including 56 suit cards and 41 trump cards. The suits correspond to the traditional Tarot suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, and Coins. Each suit contains 14 cards.
The trump cards include the usual Tarot trumps as well as 19 additional trumps. Some of the extra trumps are related to astronomical and astrological symbols.
Gameplay
- Preparation:
- Each player receives an equal number of cards, or a pre-determined number of cards is evenly dealt among the players.

A certain number of cards may be placed face down in the center of the table as the stockpile.

Bidding:

Players bid for the privilege of setting the trump suit and the right to lead the first trick.

Playing the Trick:
- The player who won the bidding leads the first card.
- The other players follow in a clockwise direction with one card each.
- If possible, a player must follow suit. If not, they may play a trump card.

The highest card of the led suit or the highest trump wins the trick.

Scoring:
- At the end of each round, players count the tricks they've taken and the points value of the cards within those tricks.
- Some cards carry special point values, and the aim is to achieve the highest score.
