Instructions Letzter

Pig - Card Game (French Deck)

Family Game, Party Game, Luck-based Game

group 3 Deutsch

Objective

The objective of Letzter is not to be the last player left who takes a card when no more cards are left at the end of a round stack.

Setup

  • The game is played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards.
  • All players sit in a circle.
  • The dealer shuffles the deck and deals each player one card face down. The remaining deck forms a draw pile.

Gameplay

  1. Players look at their cards without showing them to others.
  2. The player to the left of the dealer starts and has two options:
  3. Keep the card: The player decides to keep their card.
  4. Exchange the card: The player decides to exchange their card with the card of the player to their left. Exception: If the left player has a 7 (or higher), they can refuse the exchange.
  5. After all players have made their decisions and the round returns to the dealer, the dealer checks their card and can choose to exchange it with the top card from the draw pile.

Special Rules

  • Card Value: Cards are ranked according to their numeric value (Ace is 1, King is the highest card).
  • The Last Card: When the last player has made their decision, all players reveal their cards. The player with the lowest card value is eliminated.
  • In the event of a tie, the player seated furthest to the right of the dealer is eliminated.
  • The eliminated player removes themselves from the game, and the game is resumed with the remaining players until only two players are left.

Strategy Tips

  • Card Awareness: Try to remember which high cards are in play to avoid swapping a valuable card unnecessarily.
  • Watch the Players: Observe how other players react. If someone seems eager to swap, they might have a poor card.

End of the Game

The game ends when only one player remains. This player is the "Letzte" and has lost, although if played in a single round, the last eliminated player just loses, while others win.
