Objective
Colors is a creative and communicative board game where players associate terms with colors and must remember these associations. The goal is to match colored cards with the same terms chosen by other players.
Components
- 1 Game Board: For card layout.
- 100 Term Cards: Each card contains a word or term related to the game's theme.
- 100 Color Tokens: In various colors for the players to choose from.
- 1 Notebook and Pen: For noting associations.
- 1 Sand Timer: For time constraints if needed.
Setup
- Place the game board at the center of the table.
- Shuffle the term cards and place the stack face down next to the game board.
- Each player receives a set of color tokens.
Gameplay
- The player whose turn it is draws the top term card and reads the term aloud.
- Each player secretly chooses their association color and places the corresponding color token face down in front of themselves.
- Once all players have chosen, they simultaneously reveal their tokens and place them next to the term on the board.
- Optionally, players can provide a brief explanation for their color choice.
- The next round begins with a new term card.
Scoring
- For each other player whose color matches your own, both players get a point.
Strategic Tips
- Intuitive Associations: Sometimes choosing an obvious connection is better as it is more likely to align with others' choices.
- Knowing Players' Preferences: Understanding other players' preferences and associations can be advantageous.
End of the Game
The game ends when there are no more term cards left or after a predetermined number of rounds. The player with the most points wins.
Colors is easy to learn and suitable for family or friends, fostering both creative thinking and memory skills.
