Objective

The Lord of the Rings – The War of the Ring is a strategic board game where players take control of either the Free Peoples or Sauron’s forces. The objective for the Free Peoples is to destroy the One Ring or hold out until Sauron is defeated. Sauron's forces aim to conquer Middle-earth or corrupt the Fellowship.

Components

• Game Board: Represents Middle-earth

• Action Dice
• Cards for events and character actions
• Ring Tracker for the Fellowship's journey

Setup

• The board is placed in the center of the table. Each player takes their faction’s figures and places them on the designated starting positions marked on the board.
• Each faction receives its specific action dice, cards, and other markers.
• The Fellowship begins in the Shire for the Free Peoples.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds, consisting of several phases:

1. Draw Phase:

• Draw event cards as per each faction's rules.
