Birthright is a strategy game where players take on the roles of nobles in the fantasy world of Cerilia. The objective is to craft the most powerful kingdom in the region through careful management, diplomacy, and conquest.

Game Components

• Game board depicting the map of Cerilia.
• Character cards representing the abilities and traits of the nobles.
• Resource markers for gold, armies, and influence.
• Action cards enabling special events or actions.
• Dice to determine random events and combat outcomes.

Setup

1. Character Selection: Each player selects or draws a character card, assigning them a noble with unique bonuses.
2. Starting Resources: Every noble receives starting resources based on their card.
3. Board Setup: Place your armies on territories belonging to your noble.
4. Turn Order: Decide who starts the game.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds consisting of four phases:

1. Planning Phase

• Players secretly plan their actions for the next round and place the corresponding action cards face down.

2. Action Phase

• Actions are executed in a set sequence among players.
• Possible actions include Moving, Building, Attacking, or Negotiating Diplomacy.
• Utilize resources to support your endeavors.

3. Event Phase

• Draw an event card representing unpredictable occurrences affecting all players, like natural disasters, uprisings, or trade requests.

4. Administration Phase

• Gather resources based on your controlled territories.
• Manage your kingdom by issuing decrees or forming new alliances.

Winning the Game

The game ends when a player controls a predetermined number of territories or achieves another winning condition agreed upon at the start.

Strategic Tips

• Balance between expansion and consolidation. Growing too rapidly can strain your resources.
• Diplomacy may prove more powerful than simple force. Alliances can turn the tide in your favor.
• Keep an eye on event cards, as they can unexpectedly alter your strategy.
