Objective
The aim of Speed Cups is to be the fastest to recreate specific color patterns and score points. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins.
Required Material
- Each player receives 5 different colored cups (Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Black).
- A stack of cards with color pattern tasks.
- A bell placed in the center of the table.
Gameplay
-
Setup: Each player places their five cups in front of them. The cards are shuffled and placed face-down in the center as a stack. The bell is placed in the middle.
-
Round Start: One player flips the top card of the stack and places it face-up in the center.
-
Recreating Patterns: All players simultaneously try to recreate the pattern shown on the card as fast as they can using their cups. There are mainly two types of patterns:
- Vertical Order: Colors are displayed one above the other, meaning the cups should be stacked as a tower.
-
Horizontal Order: Colors are displayed side by side, so the cups should be aligned in a row.
-
Action: Once a player believes they have correctly built the pattern, they hit the bell.
-
Verification: The arrangement of the player who hit the bell first is checked. If correct, this player wins the card. If incorrect, the other players continue until another correct attempt is made.
-
End of Round: The used card is set aside, and a new round begins by flipping the next card.
End of the Game
The game ends either after a set time or when all cards have been played. The player with the most cards wins.
Strategic Tips
- Observation: Careful observation of the cards is crucial for quick and correct pattern-building.
- Speed: Speed is key to winning this game. Always try to act quickly yet precisely.
- Practice makes perfect: Over time, you will become faster and more accurate, as you will be able to recognize and implement patterns more swiftly.
