- Card Game (French Deck)

Party Game, Drinking Game, Luck-based Game

group 3 Deutsch

Objective

The goal of Schluckhansel is to have fun in a social setting, often involving alcoholic beverages. The game ends when all tasks have been completed or the group decides that they have played enough.

Number of Players

Schluckhansel can be played with any number of players, but the group should not be too large to maintain oversight. Ideally, play with 4 to 8 players.

Game Materials

  • A deck of cards (standard 52-card poker deck)
  • Beverages of your choice (often alcoholic)

Setup

All players sit in a circle. The deck of cards is well shuffled and placed facedown in the middle.

Gameplay

  1. Start: The first player draws a card from the deck. Each card has an associated rule or task that players must follow.

  2. Card Rules:

    • Ace: Waterfall – All players start drinking at the same time. The player who drew the ace decides when to stop. Then, the next player clockwise can stop, and so on until everyone stops.
    • King: Make a Rule – The player can create a new rule that everyone must follow for the rest of the game. Breaking this rule means you must drink.
    • Queen: Questions – The player who draws the queen must ask someone a question. The questioned player must instantaneously ask another person a different question, without answering. This continues until someone makes a mistake and drinks.
    • Jack: Social – Everyone drinks together.
    • Ten: Categories – The player selects a category; players take turns naming examples until someone can't or makes a mistake and must drink.
    • Nine: Rhyme – The player says a word, and the others take turns saying words that rhyme until someone misses or cannot think of one and must drink.
    • Eight: Date – The player picks a "date" who has to drink every time they drink.
    • Seven: Heaven – All players quickly point to the sky. The last one to do so drinks.
    • Six: Thumbs – The player may at any time place their thumb on the table. The last person to do the same drinks.
    • Five: Guys Drink – All male players take a drink.
    • Four: Girls Drink – All female players take a drink.
    • Three: Me – The player who drew the card drinks.
    • Two: You – The player chooses someone else to drink.
  3. Ending the Game: The game ends when the cards run out or the group decides to stop.

Strategy and Tips

  • Monitor Drinking: Players should be mindful of their own alcohol consumption and considerate of others who might not want to drink as much.

  • Get Creative with Rules: Try to come up with creative and fun rules when you have the chance to set one.

Schluckhansel is often played as a drinking game, so it's important to enjoy responsibly and be considerate of your fellow players. Enjoy!
