Objective of the Game
The objective of Pass the Pigs, also known as "Pig Dice Game", is to earn points by rolling two small plastic pigs and scoring based on the positions they land in.
Materials
- Two small pigs (used as dice)
- Pencil and paper for keeping score
- A rulebook with a scoring chart
Setup
- Each player needs paper and pencil to record scores.
- The scoring chart should be visible or understood by all players.
Scoring Chart
- Side (1 point): Pig is lying on its side.
- Trotter (5 points): Pig is standing on its snout and front legs.
- Razorback (10 points): Pig is standing on its back and hind legs.
- Snouter (15 points): Both pigs stand on snouts/front legs.
- Double Side (Double Points): Both pigs lying on sides.
- Combinations: There are other combinations and special scores listed in the rules.
Gameplay
- Starting Player: A player starts by rolling the two pigs.
- Score Counting: Points are counted based on the positions they fall into and recorded.
- Roll or Pass: The player decides whether to roll again to accumulate more points or end their turn to secure the points.
- Risk: If a player rolls a "Pig Out" (both pigs land on their backs), they lose all points accumulated this turn and their turn ends immediately.
Winning the Game
The game usually ends when a player reaches a set number of points (like 100 points). The player with the highest score wins.
