Objective:
Cards Against Humanity is a party game intended to provoke humorous, unexpected, or even offensive responses. Players fill in the blanks on black cards with the funniest or most fitting response cards (white cards) they have.
Setup:
- Shuffle both black and white cards separately and deal each player ten white cards.
- Place the black cards in a face-down deck in the center of the table.
- Choose a player to be the first Card Czar.
Gameplay:
- The Card Czar draws the top black card from the deck and reads it aloud. This card usually contains a sentence with one or more blanks to fill in.
- The other players choose one of their white cards that they think best fills the blank(s) and place it face down in front of the Card Czar. The white cards feature a variety of absurd or offensive responses.
- The Card Czar shuffles the submitted white cards, so they don't know who played which and reads each card aloud combined with the black card.
- The Card Czar selects the response they find the funniest or most suitable. The player whose white card is chosen takes the black card as a point.
- The player to the left becomes the new Card Czar, and the process repeats.
Special Rules:
- Some black cards require players to submit more than one white card. This is indicated on the black card.
- If a player does not have enough white cards to fulfill such a requirement, they draw additional white cards from the deck until they have enough.
Ending the Game:
The game theoretically ends when the players decide to stop or when all black cards have been used. The player with the most black cards wins the game.
Strategic Tips:
- Know your Card Czar: Try to recognize the humor styles of your fellow players and choose cards you think will particularly appeal to the current Card Czar’s sense of humor.
- Play unexpected humor: Often, the most abstract or nonsensical combinations can be the most comedic.
