Objective

Snooker Plus is an extension of the classical game of Snooker, incorporating additional balls and higher scoring opportunities. The goal of the game is to sink balls in order to achieve the highest score.

Materials Needed

  • A snooker table
  • A set of snooker balls comprising: 15 red balls, 1 yellow ball, 1 green ball, 1 brown ball, 1 blue ball, 1 pink ball, 1 black ball, and in Snooker Plus additionally:
  • 1 orange ball
  • 1 purple ball
  • A cue for each player
  • A scoreboard for tracking points

Setup

  1. Arrange the 15 red balls in a triangle at the foot end of the table with one point facing down the table.
  2. Place the colored balls on their marked positions on the table:
  3. Yellow, Green, and Brown on the D point positions
  4. Blue in the center
  5. Pink midway between the red balls and blue
  6. Black at the rear end of the table
  7. Orange between pink and blue
  8. Purple in the line between blue and black

Rules

  1. Turn: Players alternately hit the white ball to pocket a red ball into one of the pockets.
  2. Successfully potting a red ball scores 1 point.
  3. After potting a red ball, the player may hit any colored ball.
  4. Points for potting a colored ball vary:
    • Yellow: 2 points
    • Green: 3 points
    • Brown: 4 points
    • Blue: 5 points
    • Pink: 6 points
    • Black: 7 points
    • Orange: 8 points
    • Purple: 10 points
  5. Colors are returned to their original positions after each successful pot.
  6. Once all red balls have been potted, players must pot the colored balls in order of their point value.
  7. The player with the highest total score wins the frame.

Special Rules

  • Fouls: A foul occurs if the player hits a ball other than the nominated one or if the white ball is pocketed, which grants penalty points to the opponent and control of the table.
  • The player receives penalty points equal to the value of the ball that was wrongly hit or pocketed.

Strategic Considerations

  • Positioning: Consider not only the current shot, but also the position of the white ball for the next shot.
  • Choice of Colors: When playing a color after a red, choose one that is easy to pot and offers maximum points.
  • Control: Maintain control of the table by avoiding fouls and leaving difficult shots for your opponent.

Snooker Plus allows for higher scores with additional balls, adding excitement and strategic depth to a classic snooker match. Enjoy playing!
