Instructions Triominos

Objective of the Game

The objective of Triominos is to score the most points by placing triangular tiles with numbers on their sides so that the sides with the same numbers touch each other.

Game Components

• 56 Triomino tiles: These triangular tiles have numbers from 0 to 5 on each corner.
• A scorecard

Setup

1. Shuffle the tiles: Mix all the tiles face-down.
2. Draw tiles: Depending on the number of players, each player picks a certain number of tiles:
3. 2 - 4 players: Each player draws 9 tiles.
4. 5 - 6 players: Each player draws 7 tiles.
5. Determine the starting player: The player with the highest triple (e.g., 5-5-5) starts. If no player has a triple, the player with the highest total on a single tile starts.

Game Play

The game is played in a clockwise direction. Each player tries to place a tile from their hand on the table. The following rules apply:

• Placing tiles: A Triomino can only be placed if all touching sides match.
• Scoring: The score for placing a tile is the total of the three numbers on it.
• Bonus points: Additional points can be scored by:
• Placing a triple (+30 points)
• Completing a bridge (placing a tile to connect a gap) (+40 points)
• Completing a hexagon (closing a complete hexagon) (+50 points)
• Drawing new tiles: If a player cannot place a tile, they must draw one from the pile. If the new tile can be placed, it can be laid immediately.

End of the Game

The game ends when a player has placed all their Triominos or when further placements are not possible and the pile is empty.

Scoring

At the end of the game, each player subtracts the total of the numbers on their remaining tiles from their score. The player with the highest score wins.

Strategic Tips

• Plan ahead: Try to place your tiles in ways that offer you both immediate and long-term options for placement.
• Watch your opponents: Pay attention to what tiles your opponents are playing and attempt to limit their opportunities on the board.
• Make strategic moves: Completing a strategic hexagon or bridge can earn substantial additional points.
