Objective of the Game
The objective of Villa Paletti is to place as many columns as possible on higher levels of the wobbly villa and thereby earn the most points without causing the villa to collapse.
Setup
- Villa Base: The game setup begins with the foundation, which is placed on a table.
- Columns: Each player receives an equal number of columns in their color.
- Floor Platforms: Depending on the game situation, platforms are built. Starting with the basic platform, new layers can be added later.
- Stability Gauge: The stability gauge is used to mark the highest achievable level without collapsing.
Gameplay
- Player's Turn: Clockwise, each player places one of their columns either on the current platform or lifts a column from a lower level to place it higher.
- New Level: If a player can no longer place a column on the current level, they can add a new level on already existing columns.
- Risk Management: Moving columns poses the risk of destabilizing the whole structure. The higher the columns are positioned, the more points can be scored, but the risk of collapse also increases.
Special Rules
- Players must take at least one column from a lower floor before adding a new level.
- The referee can decide in case of disagreement whether a placement is allowed.
- In the event of a collapse, the player who had the most points during the previous round wins.
Tips & Strategies
- Tactical Decisions: Try to place as many valuable columns on higher levels to be at an advantage in case of collapse.
- Balance Find: Pay attention to the overall stability of the structure with each move.
End of the Game
The game ends when the structure collapses. The player with the most points from the previous round wins the game.
