King Arthur - An Epic Knight Adventure
Objective of the Game
The objective of King Arthur is to take on the role of a knight of the Round Table, facing quests, monsters, and other challenges to gain fame and honor. Players must tactically navigate tasks that expand King Arthur's influence while competing for the throne.
Game Components
- Game Board: A map of Britain with various locations and quests.
- Knight Pieces: Represents the players' position.
- Quest and Event Cards: Cards showing tasks and random events.
- Resource Markers: To manage resources like gold or food.
- Influence Markers: To display a player's influence.
Setup
- Place the game board in the middle of the table.
- Each player chooses a knight piece and the corresponding markers.
- Shuffle the quest and event cards separately and place them face down next to the board.
- Distribute the resource markers evenly among players.
- Each player draws two quest cards and keeps them secret.
- Determine randomly who will start.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in several rounds, consisting of the following phases:
1. Travel Phase
- Players can move their piece across the board, based on their character sheet’s move range.
- While moving, players can either explore a new area (start a new quest) or remain in a previously visited area to potentially gain advantages.
2. Action Phase
- Complete Quests: Players can attempt to complete a quest in the area they are in by battling opponents or using resources.
- Collect Resources: In certain areas, resources can be gathered for later use.
- Increase Influence: Influence can be gained by completing quests or collecting resources.
3. Event Phase
- Draw an event card and follow the instructions. These can have positive or negative effects on players.
4. End Phase
- Check if any player has acquired enough influence to claim the throne and win the game. If so, the game ends.
- If no winner is determined, the next round begins, and the next player takes their turn.
