Objective of the Game

Kachelproblem, also known as Tantrix, is an engaging strategy game where the goal is to create landscapes from hexagonal tiles. The objective is to connect cold regions by skillfully placing the tiles. The game enhances spatial thinking and strategic skills.

Materials

  • A set of 56 hexagonal tiles
  • A playing field

Rules of the Game

Setup

  1. Each tile is marked with colored lines in different directions.
  2. Shuffle the tiles and place them face down next to the playing area.

Gameplay

  • Each player draws six tiles.
  • The remaining tiles form a face-down stack.
  • Players take turns placing one tile on the board and then drawing a new tile from the stack.
  • Each tile must be placed so that the colored lines correctly connect with adjacent tiles.
  • It must always touch at least two tiles.

Objective of the Game

The goal for each player is to create the largest possible closed loop of one color. The loop earns points, and the player with the most points wins.

Strategies

  • Blocking: Try to limit your opponent's expansions by interrupting their lines.
  • Planning: Be careful not to block your own path by placing your tiles wisely.
  • Flexible Play: Keep an open strategy and adapt to your opponent's moves.

End of the Game

  • The game ends when all tiles have been placed.
  • Each player counts the number of tiles in their longest colored loop.
  • The player with the longest and fully closed loop wins.

Note: This game typically supports 2 to 4 players but can also be played solo for an additional challenge.
