Objective of the Game

Doom – The Board Game is a tactical, cooperative strategy game based on the popular video game franchise. One player assumes the role of the Villain – the Overlord – directing hordes of Demons, while the other players act as Elite Marines working together to complete missions and succeed in scenarios.

Game Setup

1. Select a Mission: The game includes a scenario book that describes different missions and their objectives. Choose a mission as a group.
2. Set Up the Board: Follow the instructions of the chosen mission in the scenario book to set up the board with tile pieces and game material.
3. Assign Roles: One player becomes the Overlord, the other players become Marines.
4. Equipment: Each Marine player receives a certain number of weapon and equipment cards, based on the scenario specifications.
5. Provide Demons: The Overlord receives a horde of demons to control throughout the game.

Game Flow

The game proceeds over several rounds split into player phases and overlord phases:

Player Phases

1. Action Points: Each Marine has a set number of action points used for movements, attacks, or interactions with the environment.
2. Movement: Marines can move in any direction on the board, with movement limited by their action points.
3. Attack: If a demon is within range, Marines can attack them, utilizing dice to determine whether the attack hits and how much damage it does.
4. Interaction: Marines can activate objects on the board or perform specific tasks to meet mission objectives.

Overlord Phases

1. Demon Pool: The Overlord draws cards from a demon pool to introduce new demons into play.
2. Move and Attack: The Overlord moves demons and attacks Marines using dice to determine attack success.
3. Overlord's Goals: The Overlord aims to overwhelm the Marines and thwart their mission objective.

Victory Conditions

• Marines win by meeting the mission objective before being overwhelmed.
• The Overlord wins if all Marines are defeated or fail to achieve their mission objective in time.

Strategic Tips

• Communication is crucial for the Marines to coordinate actions and effectively fight demons.
• The Overlord should use cunning and tactical play to exploit the strengths of the demons.
• Marines should manage resources carefully to avoid getting wiped out in the field.
