Cuba Libre - Game Instructions
Objective of the Game:
"Cuba Libre" is a historical board game that simulates the revolutionary turmoil in Cuba during the late 1950s. The game can be played by 1 to 4 players, each controlling one of the factions: 26th of July Movement, Government Forces, Directorio Revolucionario, or the Mafia. Each faction has its own objective that must be achieved to win.
Game Components:
- Game board depicting a map of Cuba
- Various event card decks
- Pieces and markers for the four factions
- Rulebook and scenarios
Game Setup:
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Each player selects a faction and takes the corresponding markers and reference card.
- Shuffle the event cards and place the draw pile ready.
- Deploy your faction's units according to the starting conditions in the rulebook.
- Place markers like turn or support markers accordingly on the board.
Game Play:
The game progresses in a series of rounds, each consisting of:

Draw Event Card: Reveal the top event card. This shows which player actions are available for the round and any special occurrences.

- The first player eligible for the round decides whether to execute the event or take an action from their action card.

- Available actions vary depending on the faction.
- Each faction has specific actions like recruiting units, attacking, propaganda, etc.

Event Execution: If a player chooses the event, the effect described on the card takes place - this can cause tactical shifts on the board.

Pass Actions: If players cannot or do not wish to perform further actions, they might choose to pass - affecting the next turn or saving resources.
Special Rules:
- Propaganda Cards: These occur after a certain card cycle. Here, the support and control of regions are recalculated and can drastically change the game.
- Asymmetric Goals: Each faction has unique victory conditions, e.g., control of certain regions or achieving a support level.
Victory Conditions:
A player wins by fulfilling the victory condition of their faction when a Propaganda Card is revealed. If no one wins, the player with the highest progress when the last event is revealed wins.
