Objective of the Game
In Deja-Vu, the goal is to use your memory skills to identify objects that have appeared twice in previous rounds. The player with the most collected objects at the end of the game wins.
Setup
- Preparation: The game consists of 36 cards and 36 objects. These objects are images on the cards. Place all objects in the center of the table.
- Shuffle Cards: Shuffle the deck thoroughly and place it face down as a draw pile.
Gameplay
The game is played over several rounds until all cards have been used.
- Reveal Cards: Players take turns revealing a card from the deck and placing it face up on the table.
- Each card displays several objects.
- Identify Objects: If a player believes that a specific object has already appeared twice (in the current round and at least one previous round), they can quickly grab it from the center and place it in front of themselves.
- Mistakes: If a player picks an object that has not yet appeared twice, they are penalized. This player must return one correctly guessed object at the end of the round.
End of Round
- Verify Cards: Once all cards in the round have been revealed, players collectively check which objects indeed appeared twice.
- Scoring: Players get a point for each correctly collected object.
- New Round: After scoring, a new round begins until the entire deck is used up.
End of Game
The game ends when all cards are used. The player with the most correctly collected objects (points) wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Attentive observation is key to success. Try to remember the objects on previous cards.
- Taking a calculated risk may pay off. Sometimes, it can be strategically beneficial to grab objects early, even if not completely sure.
- Try to remember distinctive objects well, as these may appear more often and are easy to recognize.
Deja-Vu is a fast-paced and fun game that challenges players' concentration and memory. Enjoy playing!
