Objective of the Game:
In Minoru, the goal is to score the most points by strategically placing stones to form clusters of the same color and using special field functionalities to your advantage.
Game Materials:
- A game board with an 8x8 grid.
- Playing stones in four different colors: Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow.
- Special markers that trigger certain actions.
- A scoring track to keep score.
Setup:
- Each player receives an equal number of playing stones.
- Special markers are distributed on specific board fields according to the game instructions.
- Each player draws five stones from a common pool, keeping them hidden.
Gameplay:
- Players take turns placing one of their stones on an open field on the game board.
- After placing a stone, any special marker effects on the newly occupied field are activated. These effects may include removing opponent stones, moving one’s own stones, or receiving extra turns.
- Points are scored by forming clusters of at least three connected stones of the same color (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
- Points for each formed cluster depend on the number of stones in the cluster and any additional effects from special markers.
End of the Game:
The game ends when all players have no more stones to place or the board is completely filled.
Scoring:
- Players add up the points from all clusters they have formed.
- The player with the highest total score wins.
Strategic Tips:
- Be mindful of your stone placements to create large clusters while limiting your opponents' options.
- Strategically use fields with special markers to gain crucial advantages in the final rounds.
- Plan moves ahead and create surprising clusters to outmaneuver your opponents.
