Objective of the Game:
Nova Luna is a strategic board game focusing on planning and fulfilling tasks. The goal is to be the first to complete a certain number of tasks by cleverly placing tiles on your personal playing tableau. The exact number of tasks to be fulfilled depends on the number of players.
Game Components:
- 68 tiles in blue, red, yellow, and turquoise
- 84 markers in player-specific colors
- 1 moon marker
- 1 moon disc with a circular rim
- Player boards
Setup:
- Moon Disc: Place the moon disc in the center of the table and set the moon marker on a starting point.
- Tiles: Shuffle the tiles and distribute them, directly adjacent to the moon disc.
- Markers: Each player receives a set number of markers in their color.
Gameplay:
- The player whose marker is furthest behind on the moon disc takes the turn. This means a player may play multiple times in a row.
- A player chooses one of the three tiles directly clockwise from the current position of the moon marker.
- After selection, the player places the tile on their board and moves the moon marker forward the number of spaces shown on the tile.
Tiles and Tasks:
- Every tile has tasks represented by colored circles.
- By arranging corresponding tiles together, a task can be completed.
- For each completed task, place a player marker on it.
Tactical Notes:
- Placement: Carefully consider how you place your tiles to potentially complete multiple tasks in future turns.
- Strategic Planning: Since the player who is furthest behind plays, it might be advantageous to advance fewer spaces to play consecutively.
End of the Game:
The game ends when a player places all their starting markers on the task tiles. This player is declared the winner.
Strategy Tips:
- Optimal Use of Turn System: Clever management of the turn mechanism can be decisive: consider the advantages of taking "slower" turns to potentially play more frequently.
- Tile Selection: Choose tiles that not only fulfill a task but also facilitate future combinations.
