Objective of the Game:
Toccadille is a classic and strategic trick-taking card game. The main objective is to collect points by winning certain tricks, aiming to have the highest score at the end of the rounds.
Game Components:
- A standard deck of 52 cards (no jokers).
- Notepad and pen for scoring.
Number of Players:
- Minimum: 3 players.
- Maximum: 5 players.
Setup:
Players sit around a table, and one player is designated as the dealer. The cards are shuffled and dealt to each player. In a three-player game, each player receives 17 cards; in a four-player game, 13 cards each; and in a five-player game, 10 cards each.

Determining Trump Suit: After dealing, the top card of the remaining deck is flipped over to determine the trump suit (also called "Atout"). This card remains face-up.

Gameplay: The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick by playing any card. The following players must play a card of the same suit if they can. If a player cannot follow suit, they may either discard a card of another suit or play a trump card.

Winning a Trick: The highest trump played wins the trick. If no trump is played, the highest card of the led suit wins. The winner of the trick collects the cards and leads the next trick.

Scoring: At the end of the game, players count their won tricks and special point cards like aces or tens of the trump suit. Scoring may be structured as follows:
- 10 points for winning the last trick.
- 4 points for each ten in the tricks won.
End of the Game:
The game ends once all cards have been played and the points for the last round are recorded. The player with the highest score wins the game.
Strategic Tips:
- Card Counting: Try to keep track of which cards have been played to know what remains in play and what doesn't.
- Saving Trumps: Reserve your trump cards for more critical tricks where you have the advantage or can win a valuable trick.
- Watch Opponents: Pay attention to the other players' moves. If you notice a player is out of a certain suit, you can exploit this weakness.
